Wedding!! Batch 2!

Here's batch 2!

We had a lot of help for the wedding from our mutual friend and Emcee, Jackson, as well as the musicians Jordan, Clement, and William Salim, who not only sacrifaced their evenings to practice the songs used during the wedding, but also helped shift the pews back, remove the flowers (which the florist conveniently forgot to do), and open / close the sanctuary at times when most people were still in bed. Here's a big THANKYOU to those unsung heroes of our wedding :

Our Emcee and worship leader, Mr Jackson Wan!

Our Drummer, Mr Jordan!

And our guitarist and backup singer, Clement! Clement was also the person who brought Adeline into the church in the first place, so in a sense, he was the one who started the chain of events which led to me and Adeline getting hitched!!

Our wonderful Pastor Srimal and his wife/translator, Serene - they did such a wonderful job; I cannot thank them enough. I am, however, painfully awkward with thank yous, so I'll just say that you guys RAWK! And I was reconverted back into the Faith with Pastor Srimal's message - so in a sense he was the one who said the right thing at the right time and triggered off the right response - truly, God's ways are subtle but never in vain! :-)

Signing of the Marriage Cert by our solemnising Reverend, Rev Peter! Reverend Keith was the original person we asked for the wedding, but he was occupied by some last minute matters a few weeks before the wedding, and he spoke with Reverend Peter to get him to solemnise for us. We had to go for an additional Marriage Preparation course (a 2 hour crash-course), but we both felt we learnt a great deal from the lesson. Reverend Peter's instructions to us to not hold hands when Adeline was being led down the aisle by her father until the actual ceremony when he ordained it threw us a bit off balance, but I think by and large the effect was great! :-)

Our flower girl, Jemima! She is so absolutely adorable!

Flowers for the canteen decorations! We had to order the flowers wholesale on the 26th and the Bridesmaid and Bride spent virtually the whole day (and night) clipping these tiny gems you see in those cups - their work was so professional people were grabbing the cups off to take home as souveneirs until we told them they couldn't! Some industrious ones got some plastic bottles, halved them on the spot and made little vases with them - all in all we were very satisfied with the way the flowers turned out! :-)

Large vases of flowers! A lot of this can be attributed to Joanne, our Bridesmaid of honor and the Bride herself! We only managed to do a run-through the week before of how the flowers should look, so having all 25 odd vases of uncut flowers done up in the space of half a day was really quite a feat. Adeline and Joanne should think of setting up a flower shop!

The overall effect was so pastel and gentle - the ideal we wanted that no florist could offer! (especially at that price!)
One of our guests, Ms Alicia - she worked in MOM previously and is now a budding singer (opera-style). She's really pretty good! Adal thought of asking her to sing at his wedding, but thought it might be awkward since he hasn't really contacted her much prior to the wedding.
More pics to come soon!
