Day 4 in Melbourne: Great Ocean Road Part 2!

The 2nd Lap of our journey brought us to the 12 Apostles after a very long ride. Adal went in with very little expectations since he's seen photos of the 12 Apostles and never thought much of them.

(Almost) Clear blue skies and blue seas!

Adal has to admit - no photo will ever do these gigantic rock structures any justice. The 12 Apostles were HUGE and were awe inspiring to behold, with the smallest structure you see in the picture above being probably the height of a 20-30 storeyed HDB flat (not taking into consideration the area below water). You can imagine how big the rest of them are! The waves in the seas around them were just as powerful and precarious.

The land areas surrounding the lookout point were lush with greenery and vegetation, and the air was cold and brought wisps of the smell of salt from the sea from time to time. In the distance, mountains, foliage and the evening mist brought home to Adal that no poet, artist, photographer or writer would ever be able to bring such a powerful sense of loneliness, awe, fear, respect, and contentment in that one instance as the awesome pieces of work created by God.

The Loch Ard Gorge. According to the guide, the Gorge is named after a ship called the Loch Ard crashed into the Gorge, killing all but 2 members of the ship; a member of the crew as well as a female passenger.

From the lookout point, it seems to be a perfect spot for a secret beach getaway, if not for the fact that attempting to swim there would get your head dashed into a million pieces by the powerful waves.

The sea is ever so deep and mysterious in these little enclaves, with strange cave-like formations dotted here and there.

And around the area, pale foliage, speckled with surprisingly green plants.

The Razorback - A&A had a friendly discussion about whether it was part of the 12 Apostles (both were too lazy to actually read the signboard)

The razorback has an odd hole on its' top.

Our last stop; London Bridge. The guide had an interesting real-story! According to him, the couple stranded on the right side of the "bridge" when the bridge collapsed didn't want to disclose their identity nor show their faces even though they were involved in a national-televised and reported event. It turns out, the 2 of them were on sick leave, were lovers, and worst of all, were married to other people already! It was hilarious (for us, though obviously not the adulterous couple).
And to round up our journey nicely, the bus broke down. At nightfall, no less. As the guide/driver decided what to do, we suggested we push the bus, and Praise The Lord, it started after 3-4 tries.
After a Loooong journey (3-4 hours), we had KFC on the bus (quickly purchased from a store we stopped at along the way) and were on our way back.
We both decided that the KFC wasn't as nice as the ones at home, because the chicken just wasn't crispy.
That rounded up our very eventful 4th Day In Melbourne! :-)
